WIAQ Open Water Results
On Monday 19 December 2016, WIAQ had a team of swimmers competing in the NSW State Age and State Open, Open Water Swimming Championships.
The following swimmers competed, some for the very first time (in alphabetical order):
Sian Bourke, Sebastian Buchanan, Bailey Crehan, Kaimana Fittock, Ben Giason, Bailey Krstevski, Riley Powell, Regan Smith and Griffin Spicknall
There were some fantastic swims culminating in the following results:
Boys 11 years 2.5 km– Riley Powell 2nd Boys 12 years 2.5km – Bailey Krstevski 6th, Bailey Crehan 11th, Ben Giason 13th and Regan Smith 23rd
Boys 13 years 2.5km – Sebastian Buchanan 6th
Boys 15 years 5km – Griffin Spicknall 19th
Girls 14 years 5km – Kaimana Fittock 4th and Sian Bourke 16th
It is wonderful to see so many younger swimmers being involved in the open water swimming, following in the proud WIAQ tradition of tackling and succeeding in the open water events.
